Work has two kinds of search. Both only return what you may read. ## Keyword search `GET /v1/search?q=` finds docs and items that contain the words. Each result has its `kind` (Doc or Item), its text and a score. In the app, use the Search screen and filter by Docs, Items or Boards. ## Smart search (passages) Smart search finds the best **passages** for a question, not only matching words. It works in Hebrew and English. * `POST /v1/rag/search` with a `query`. The answer lists passages. Each has its title, the heading it sits under, the text and the exact start and end position in its source (`charStart`, `charEnd`). * The result names the embedding `model` and a `degraded` flag. `degraded` is true when the smart part could not be used and only keyword matching answered. * Docs and item text are indexed in the background. A new or changed doc becomes searchable for smart search after the next indexing round. * `GET /v1/rag/status` shows whether smart search is on, the model, how many docs and items are indexed and how many are waiting. ## Check a quote `POST /v1/rag/verify` checks that a quote really appears in its source. An Agent uses it before it repeats a quote, so it cannot invent one. ## Agents Agents use the same search through MCP: `boardy_search`, `boardy_rag_search` and `boardy_rag_verify_citations`.
