# Concepts

> The words Worksong uses, in one place.

| Concept | Meaning |
| - | - |
| **Agent** | A persistent assistant with its own persona, memory, routines, tools and daily budget. |
| **Conversation** | A chat with an Agent and its saved record. Past conversations stay readable. |
| **Group** | A chat with several Agents and you. An `@mention` of an Agent in a post hands the turn to that Agent. |
| **Task** | Work owned by one Agent that keeps going after the chat. It moves through queued, running and review. |
| **Approval** | A card that pauses an Agent before a consequential action, until you decide. |
| **Routine** | A prompt an Agent runs on a schedule (cron) or when a webhook is called. |
| **Memory** | What an Agent remembers: its own, yours (shared by all your Agents), per project, and per Group. |
| **Connection** | An account you link (for example through Composio, or WhatsApp) so an Agent can use it. |
| **Skill** | A packaged set of instructions and files an Agent can switch on. |
| **Tool server** | A remote MCP server you add, review and attach to an Agent. |
| **Secret** | A key or password an Agent can use but can never read. |
| **Computer** | A remote desktop that belongs to one Agent, where it browses and where you can watch or help. |
| **Work** | Boards, items, forms, dashboards, automations and gates for your team. |

> [!NOTE]
>
> A Conversation is the record you see. The Agent also keeps a private working memory for a chat that can be compacted or replaced at any time. It never appears in the app, and the Agent can still read the whole Conversation.
